There are some weird, extravagant, and flamboyant jerseys in Euro 2024. And so it happens that most of them are the national teams’ second jersey, where brands like Adidas, Nike, Puma, and Macron tend to experiment more.
Also, the tendency is clearly to experiment with colors and textures, the latter creating everything from the blue-hued tile textures in Portugal’s second kit, courtesy of Nike, to Macron’s distinctive patterns in Albania’s and Georgia’s jerseys.

The most attractive and flamboyant of them all is Germany’s bright and exotic second kit with a great geometric pattern in pink and purple hues. According to multiple reports, Germany’s Euro 2024 away jersey represents the diversity of the country. The New York Times says that the pink and purple kit has become the fastest-selling in the team’s history. This is how ESPN describes it: “Germany have matched their ultra-modern home jersey with an equally bright and lively away design that blends hazy purple and pink washes to create a spiked pattern that radiates up from the lower hem to the collar. It might not please the purists, but it’s a stunner.”

Nike created this gorgeous blue and white second kit for Portugal (above) inspired by the country’s traditional tile work. While the pattern is somewhat washed out, the source of inspiration is clear, and the end result is stunning.

Nike, again, went all in with the Netherlands second kit, respecting its traditional blue color but adding the stunning contrast of the Oranje’s bright orange hues. Beautiful.

Nike, yet again, did Croatia no disservice by skewing the traditional square pattern and going all in with elegant, contrasting blues with subtle red highlights. Excellent work.

Adidas went with the traditional colors (gold and burgundy red) for Belgium’s first kit but added a lovely, geometric pattern to the fabric.

Talking about patterns, Puma chose a mountain-like scheme for Austria’s first kit, the only flair on this somewhat common shirt.

Macron, a company that also dressed up the tournament’s referees, brought two of the nicest jerseys to the tournament. Albania’s first (above), with a cool, abstract pattern and nice bright reds, and Georgia’s second (below), with a nice cross pattern and a great, deep black. Well done, Macron!
